My wife and I have decided to start fostering dogs and started working with a rescue out of Oakville.
The other day we received a call from the rescue asking if we could take 5 dogs coming from Kentucky and Ohio for the night as they travel to their shelters.
Everyone was excited for the dogs to come and the dogs were all happy to be here. Bernadette the Basset hound was the biggest and took to my wife right away. Rugrat, a rat terrier with a short leg, made himself right at home on the couch after dinner. The couple, Gunter and Zoey, two teeny tiny rat terriers were good for some loving, and Albert, an American hairless, was the most timid.
All of the dogs were great with the boys and the cats, and sweet as can be. It’s hard to believe that these poor guys and gals had been abandoned and if it weren’t for the kindness of all the volunteers who helped get them here they would have been put to sleep.
